My Little Guy

As promised, here's a little update on my littlest man. First of all, can I just say, I cannot believe he's almost 10 months old, how did that happen? I've already started thinking about his first birthday, which is so crazy to me. How can his first birthday be approaching? I just had him! Anyways, I've already started thinking about it because being so close to Christmas, it's going to be a little trickier to plan, even if it's just family, since December is such a busy month, at least in this family it is.

Ok back to the update, like I said he's almost 10 months old and he's a big boy. Remember that scrawny little baby he was right at first? Well, not anymore. At his 8 month doctor's appointment he weighed in at a hefty 20 or 21 lbs ( I can't remember, should have blogged about it 2 months ago).

He's got gorgeous blue eyes and hair that sticks straight up. If you've seen him in person in the last few months, you know exactly what I'm talking about. His hair really does stick straight up, making it look slightly as if we've styled it with some sort of hair product, I assure you, we haven't. I think it's adorable!

He's crawling now. It's actually an army crawl, meaning his tummy never leaves the floor, and it looks like he's a soldier crawling under barbed wire or something, but he's fast and can get where he wants to go. He's also pulling up a bit, although most of our furniture is just a little too tall for him to get a hand on.

He loves playing with Caleb and follows him everywhere. He smiles all the time and laughs easily. He's definitely a Mama's boy and gets upset if he wants me to hold him and I can't.

He loves going to for walks and will easily sit in the stroller, very content, for 45 minutes. He's a happy boy and that makes it easy to take him places.

He's so sweet and has definitely won my heart. Just look at those big blue eyes.

Playing Catch Up

It's been too long, and I'm not even going to try to catch up on everything we've done in the past few months, but suffice it to say, we had a wonderful end of the summer and are heading strong into fall.

For now, I'm just going to write a quick post on each of the boys. What they've been up to, how big they've gotten, you know, typical Mama stuff.

We're gonna start with my big boy Caleb. He's 27 months old and is really getting so big. He started Mother's Day Out this year, and goes 1 day a week. He LOVES it, which makes me so happy. I dreaded having to drop him off every week if he wasn't happy, although I know even if he wasn't happy when I dropped him off, he'd get over it quickly and have fun, but it makes things easier for everyone that he absolutely loves school days. The child doesn't even glance back at me as he enters his classroom, such a big boy!

His talking has also picked up a ton in the past few months. He had a slow start with talking, although he was certainly always within a normal range, but he talks all the time now, and most of it is even understandable.

He loves all things sports, both playing and watching. He has all the equipment to play basketball, soccer, T-ball, football and golf, although baseball is his favorite. He loves wearing his baseball hat and glove and is getting very good at hitting his baseball off of his tee.

He is so sweet to Ethan, and they are finally able to play together a little bit, although Caleb doesn't like Ethan to play with his "big boy" toys.

I can't believe how big he's getting. He's definitely losing that baby look and looking more and more like a little boy.

Beach Pictures

Oh it has been so long, I know. People have asked me over and over again, "when are you gonna post something new on your blog?" and I'd respond with, "oh I don't know, we've been so busy" or "I just don't really have anything to post about" or "I haven't taken many pictures lately".

But truthfully, I'm just not a very good blogger. I have some pictures I just have to share though. I'm biased, I know, but I think these pictures are just about the cutest things I've ever seen.

We took a trip to the beach last week, which I'll post more about later (I hope), but while we were there my sister and I took the opportunity to take some pictures of my boys. I tried to narrow it down as much as I could, but this is the best I could do. Enjoy!

We really had such a great time and can't wait until we get to go back next summer!

4th of July

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday weekend.

We sure did!

Eating, swimming, fishing and fireworks...a full weekend.

Unfortunately I was too busy having fun to capture the weekend in pictures except for a few mediocre pictures from my phone, but take my word for it... We had a blast!

Party Time!

Caleb's 2nd birthday party was today. It was lots of fun, especially for a 2 year old.
We bounced.

And lots of Caleb's friends came to play.

We also went swimming...thank goodness, because it was hot!

Ethan got in on the partying too.

And got to hang out with his sweet friend.
This is what you get when you try to get a good picture of two 6 month olds.

We did actually get one cute picture!

We had cupcakes!

And the whole party was Curious George themed ... his Aunt Rachel got him this adorable shirt.

After a little brotherly love ....

This is pretty much how everyone felt.

The party was so much fun! The weather was great and Caleb had a blast playing with all his friends. We're so thankful for this little guy and all the people in his life. Thanks, to all who came to help up celebrate!!

A Birthday Letter

Caleb,
Today you are 2 years old. You aren't the little baby that I brought home from the hospital 2 years ago anymore, but a little boy. A little boy full of personality. A little boy that makes me laugh and smile every single day.

You have such a sweet spirit, a spirit that I know has nothing to do with my parenting, but has to do with a faithful and loving heavenly Father, who is already molding you into one of His children. You may not realize it yet, but He loves you so much more than your Daddy and I ever could, and we love you tons!

It makes me so happy to see how sweet you are to your baby brother, to see you bring him a bottle when he's crying, even if it is a bottle that is empty and has been sitting on the coffee table all morning, I know you are trying to be Mama's big helper.

I love your silliness, and I cherish it because I know that at some point you'll outgrow running around the room making silly faces and noises. I love how you are so dramatic. A slight bump as I walk past sends you falling to the floor saying, "Whooooooa".

You want kisses on all of your "boo-boos", you love your bunny (or buh, as you call him). And that paci ... I don't know how we'll ever get rid of it. But for now, I love it. You like praying before meals and before bedtime, and you fold your little hands and sit quietly while Daddy and I talk to God. You love your new puppy and love it when she chases you. You want to be just like daddy, carrying your wallet and cell phone, blowing your duck call, and driving a truck. You love trains and we watch for them out the window of the car, whether there's a train track nearby or not. You love being outside and finding bugs, and you call them all bees. You love singing and playing music, especially with the Wii guitar. You ask me to sing to you every night before bed and for months and months you've wanted the "Big Bird" song, which has nothing to do with Big Bird, but you heard it on Sesame Street so, to you, it's the "Big Bird" song.

You are a complete joy and I thank God every day that you are a part of our family. I love you so much!

Happy Birthday Big Boy!!

Love,
Mama
